Dr. Patricia Georgina Botet, DACM, L.Ac., C.SMA

Patricia Botet is a licensed Acupuncturist, NCCAOM board-certified herbalist, and certified Sports Medicine Acupuncture Specialist. She holds her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine, and a BS in Finance and International Business. Dr. Botet has undergone a multitude of post-graduate studies in Acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Physical Medicine and Neurology. She completed an intensive internal medicine externship at an integrated East/West hospital in Liaoning, China and is experienced in providing Acupuncture in hospitals throughout New York City. She has participated in research focusing on the effects of Acupuncture in stroke recovery at NYU Lutheran Medical Center conducted by Dr. Claudia Citkovitz, PhD, and at Montefiore Hospital treating chronic pain and osteoarthritis with Acupuncture and Acupuncture-related interventions. She is currently involved in a new pilot study involving the treatment of chronic pain patients with Acupuncture and yoga.

Patricia’s passion for Chinese Medicine began 20 years ago when she discovered the benefits of Acupuncture with Chinese herbal and nutrition therapy. Her personal experience was the genesis for integrating her career in hospitality management with her healthcare profession. Through her extensive studies and practice, Patricia learned that the most profound improvements are made when the body, mind and spirit are in alignment. The focus of her treatments is to help individuals regain their sense of balance with themselves and their environment. Whether addressing physical injury or internal disharmony, Patricia provides individualized acupuncture and herbal treatments while also incorporating her advanced training in tui na medical massage, gua sha, integrative nutrition, and essential oils. In addition to her expertise in orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation, Patricia loves working with women’s health! She has worked with countless women to address their unique gynecological and reproductive issues, as well as helping them through the myriad of hormonal phases and changes throughout their lives.

As the former Director of Food and Beverage for Canyon Ranch Miami Beach and Integrative Nutrition Holistic Health Coach, Patricia collaborates with a local NYC chef to prepare herbal bone stocks and medicinal soups made from local organic sources for her New York clientele. She teaches The Treatment of Orthopedic Disorders at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) and is an off-site clinic supervisor for PCOM students at NYU Lutheran in the Neurological and Orthopedic Rehabilitation Department. She also manages AcuSport Education, the top Sports Medicine Acupuncture certification program in the country. When not treating patients, Patricia loves spending time in the beautiful mountains of upstate NY and cooking for friends and family!
